Strategic Planning

Our associates facilitate strategic planning processes that will help your organization enhance its existing programs and services, and/or prepare organizations to move in a new direction. Strategic planning is critical for any organization that is considering a major campaign. The success of a capital or endowment campaign depends on a thorough feasability study and effective strategic plan. Developing strategies and tactics will help your organization reach its goals. Our associates work with your organization to develop a strategic plan that is clear, concise, convincing and compelling. A strategic plan does not need to be long winded. It needs to keep the reader interested in your future. The strategic plan should provide clarity on where you are going and how you plan to get there. It must be convincing and compelling enough to provoke an emotional connection with a philanthropic leader. The more interest a prospective donor has in your plan, the more likely they are to consider making a gift.

Major Gifts Fundraising

We provide strategic counsel on raising major gifts. Our Associates guide individuals to consider important factors necessary for a major gifts plan, and how these factors will contribute to their organization's success. We also offer a number of highly effective tactics that are proven to engage philanthropic leaders.

Coaching and Mentoring

Rudy Massimo & Associates provides coaching and mentoring to individuals who will be soliciting donors. This may include working with the development staff, board members or volunteers. We help individuals develop solicitation skills and rehearse for success before they make “the ask.” Part of our coaching and mentoring involves developing personalized and targeted strategies based on the needs and interests of the prospective donor.

Adventure Fundraising

We offer a number of customized adventure trips as a unique and exciting way to raise funds for your organization. Over the years we have led groups from climbing expeditions up Mt. Kilimanjaro to dog sledding experiences in the Yukon. Our adventures are safe and well organized. We bring together people that have an interest in your organization. In addition to raising funds for your organization, these adventures engage people and can often be a life changing experience for your supporters. Each of our trips is designed to be a group experience which supports and meets each participant's own challenges and goals. We believe that the journey is as important as the destination. We value relationships and create opportunities for participants to get to know each other better. By the end of the experience, participants are more familiar with your organization and become passionate champions for your cause.

Planned Giving

Our Associates work with your organization to enhance your existing planned giving program, and/or to assist you in developing a comprehensive program that meets your needs. Since the laws and regulations governing planned giving are constantly changing and their application may vary depending on a donor's circumstances, we provide you with professional counsel and the technical expertise you will need to support your donors. Planned giving is overlooked by charities because the returns are often long term, since the most common planned gifts are made through an estate in the form of a bequest, life insurance, or annuities. Aside from the legacy and impact a planned gift can have on a organization, it can also be an effective way for donors to make their gifts from a tax perspective. The sooner an organization implements a planned giving program, the more successful they will be in the long term. Ideally, planned giving should be an integral part of an organization's development activities. Planned giving ensures a donor's financial and philanthropic interests are met, whether they plan to give during their lifetime or through their estate.
